Paper Moon Jewelry artist Jayne Dwyer has been sculpting images in polymer clay at her studio in Newcastle for many years, finding constant inspiration in the nature and scenery of MidCoast Maine. The caning process she uses involves no painting; the design extends through the clay log, and each slice produces the image you see here. The intensely skillful way Jayne handles her material gives the work an almost photographic quality with color variations, shading, and details unusual in polymer clay art.
